I was diagnosed with Kidney Cancer when I was four years old and was in and out of the hospital until I was five. I’ve been eight years cancer free going on nine. Every year in the start of the summer, I start talking to all of my friends from Smile-A-Mile and discussing how much I’m ready to see them. At camp my life is changed by all the new things I do and interactions with all the new campers that have just been through treatment and start to do stuff to make that annoying thing called cancer get off their mind. I love the dance cause thats the best night of my life. I hope to be a counselor with all of my friends when I’m older. Thank you Smile-A-Mile and Children’s of Alabama for changing my life.
