Being part of Smile-A-Mile has truly changed my life over the years. Starting as a young child who thought nobody related to her problems as a cancer kid sibling, when my family joined SAM I suddenly was surrounded by everyone who knows what I’ve been through. Camp has become an event that I look forward to every year, and is always a highlight to my summer. Over the years I’ve seen many people come and go, experienced the growth and change of Smile-A-Mile as a whole, and made so many friends that I’m still close to to this day. SAM has genuinely given me so many experiences that I couldn’t have gotten anywhere else in any other way, and even though I’m going into my final year as a camper, I know that I’ll be sticking with my second family for the years to come, and definitely be coming back as a counselor as soon as I can 😉❤️
