My SAM Story

When Abigail was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia on December 20, 2016, our world was flipped upside down. Smile-A-Mile was the first people to get us out of the room and participate in their Hospital Outreach Program. Arianna, Abigail’s sister, was staying with us in the hospital and wanted to go make buttons so we went. That was the first of many things we did with Smile-A-Mile over the eight months in the hospital and even when we went home. Staying in a hospital isn’t much fun but we would look forward to Smile-A-Mile day each week. We made so many life long friends through Smile-A-Mile! They give you hope and fun during a really hard time. They have done so much for our family and given us so many memories that will last forever.
