My SAM Story

I first met Smile-A-Mile when my little brother got leukemia. I graduated from kindergarten and went to see him in the hospital. Mrs. Kellie took me to their Hospital Outreach Program, played with me and talked to me. She helps sick kids and their brothers or sisters not feel so scared. It was pretty cool. The most fun with SAM was this summer when Dalton and I went to Day Camp at Smile-A-Mile Place. Every day was awesome! We met a lot of really cool people and did fun activities! We even went on a field trip to the zoo! The best part was meeting people like me who had a brother or sister with cancer. We learned that we all have gone through the same things. It’s hard having your brother or sister have cancer. They are very sick and are in the hospital a lot. Your parents have to stay at the hospital with them. You miss them a whole lot. Smile-A-Mile helps make cancer kids and their families journey a little easier. I love Smile-A-Mile and all of the counselors!! Smile-A-Mile is AWESOME!!!!Β 💛
