I was diagnosed with stage 4 Wilms’ Tumor when I was 2 1/2 years old. My parents sent me to camp Smile-A-Mile around 8 years old; they thought I was ready to be away from home for a week. Right when I got there I met Makenzie! She introduced me to camp and made me feel comfortable. I quickly began to make so many more friends. That was 6 years ago. I am now 10 years cancer free! I can’t thank Smile-A-Mile enough for how much they’ve helped me deal with my cancer. I’ve become more confident in myself. I hope to be a counselor when I get older. I can’t wait to make more memories with Smile-A-Mile!”
