My SAM Story

I first got involved with Smile-A-Mile when I was in college as a volunteer counselor and it completely changed my life. I was in nursing school, and after being involved with the kids and families at SAM, I realized how much I would love to be a part of their lives every day by becoming a pediatric oncology nurse. After continuing to be a camp counselor with SAM for the past seven years, I can honestly say that I could not do what I do as a nurse without it. SAM is a place where the kids can just be kids, not a diagnosis. It is a place where they can have hope and fun; it is truly a family and it is a honor to get be a part of the SAM Family!
