My SAM Story

In the summer of 2019, I was very grateful for the opportunity to serve as a counselor at Off-Therapy Family camp. Before meeting the campers, I was nervous (I still don’t remember what I ate for that dinner) if I would be able to deliver them the best memories at camp. And unlike my worries, I was amazed by how much Smile-A-Mile has impacted me to become a better person in so many aspects of life. All the enthusiasm, caring, and love that I witnessed from everyone inspired me deeply and truly fulfilled my heart to feel like I’ve met a big group of family. Being remembered by my little camper as his “best counselor” and sharing smiles with all the incredible kids is such a privilege and an unforgettable experience that I will cherish in my life. Moreover, I am very honored to be involved in a journey of giving hope to those affected by cancer and can’t wait for more years to spend with the children as part of the SAM family.
