I love the camp atmosphere. There is nothing like it. I adored camp as a child and it was easily the highlight of my summer. I was nervous becoming a counselor at first because of all the responsibility. I realized when I attended orientation that everything would be okay. Everyone welcomed me with open arms. During camp, if I had an issue or felt like I needed a breather, I always felt comfortable talking to my fellow counselors. You truly become a family. You may be tired by the end of the week but you always walk away thankful. Thankful for your campers, thankful for the staff and other volunteers, and thankful for the opportunity to be a part of something bigger than yourself.
