My SAM Story

Alison

I started volunteering with Smile-A-Mile at camp in high school and will always be so grateful because I knew, with absolute clarity, that I had found my calling. I spent 13 years as an RN on the pediatric unit at Children’s of Alabama and was able to continue volunteering as a nurse at camp. When I left my job to stay at home with my two young children, I wanted to stay involved and was thrilled to get the opportunity to run the New York City Marathon in 2015 for SAM! I felt so honored and so thrilled to be able to fundraise for my patients and campers. Smile-A-Mile has my heart and always will. I love any chance to support them…including running in the Monkey C Monkey Run this Saturday AND the New York City Marathon in November!!! I’m ready for round 2 in the Big Apple.
My miles are all for the campers- the ones I love and the ones I’ve had to say goodbye to. I’m running for you guys, with all my heart.
